October 27th, 2009 - 2 year plan
ICON 2009 is over with and while I plan on posting a modest review (since I didn’t attend all of the major functions, you get only a modest review), I have since come up with a 2 year plan.
Now, this only partially has to do with ICON specifically, but it’s a good kick off point. So here goes:
1. Be at least as active at the next two ICONs as I was with this one. I volunteered all over the place and had a great time doing it, so there isn’t a real reason to stop now.
2. Stay Connected. That is, with my friends. The flood last year and my 16 hour days really created a poor setting with which to maintain certain friendships. Now that both are over I have more time to devote to staying connected with them. That is partially the purpose of this site. Stay connected with old friends, and attempt to draw some new ones in.
3. Health. I’ve been neglecting that for some time now. While my health and physique could be worse (easily worse) they aren’t ideal for me anymore. I have the time to devote to some manner of exercise and I have the resources of a hospital fitness program to draw on and it’s time I use it. I’ve scheduled a health assesment and will be scheduling a fitness assessment in the next day or two.
4. Savings. I need to get my savings back up. I want to save enough to either buy a house or a new car. With 2 years to do it in, I think I should be able to make it. Whether I buy a house or car remains to be seen (most likely a car though, mine sucks), but I would like to have the savings again.
So, I guess this sounds more like a list (albeit short list) of new year’s resolutions, but it’s what I want to work on for the next couple of years. :)
Goodnight everyone! Sleep well!
